The Thriving Kids Advisory Group Report, released by the federal government today, makes recommendations aimed at addressing the needs of children and students under nine years of age with developmental delay or autism and low to moderate support needs. IEU members working in ECEC and schools have frequently highlighted the increasing gap between the number of children and students presenting with additional support needs and the capacity for timely intervention provided by allied health and other support professionals. An independent statutory review of the Fair Work Legislation Amendment (Secure Jobs, Better Pay) Act 2022 is being undertaken by an expert Review Panel to assess the impact of the legislation and whether further amendments are needed to improve its operation. IEU clarifies compliance workload requirements with AITSL and ACECQA

In an effort to clarify what is, and is not, required for compliance, the IEU has recently engaged with the Australian Institute for Teaching and School Leadership (AITSL) and the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority, (ACECQA) to develop fact sheets that clarify the policy intentions of the Australian Teacher Performance and Development Framework in schools, (the ATPDF) and the Educational Program documentation needed to satisfy the requirements of the Assessment and Ratings process in Early Childhood Education and Care settings.
